Overview

The Harrison County Parks and Recreation is the parks agency serving Harrison County, and is tasked with the protection and safekeeping of multiple sites, buildings, and areas.

The current Director is Time2Fly who has been serving since his appointment on June 30, 2023. Serving below him is ToxicCooling, who was appointed following the resignation of caisse13 on April 24th 2024.

As of 2024, the current department budget is [UNDECIDED]. There are currently 12 sworn rangers and one volunteer reserve ranger.

History

Harrison County Parks and Recreation was established in the late 1980's tasked with the preservation and protection of local landmarks, natural sites, parks, recreation areas, and more. They have remained an active and running department since their establishment.

Role

Harrison County Parks and Recreation is tasked with the protection of county parks, nature reserves and recreational facilities located within Harrison County as well as regulating hunting and other activities in those areas.

Divisions

There are two (2) divisions in the Harrison County Parks and Recreation

Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is tasked with the general patrolling of the department's jurisdiction. It is divided into two districts, North and South, each led by a District Ranger. Within these districts are patrol squads which cover areas of a district.

Each park in the county is overseen by a Park Manager of the rank of Senior Ranger who has the task of approving permits for the park and knowing particular details of their park.

Standards Division

The Standards Division is comprised of two Subdivisions. The Patrol Support Subdivision is led by District Ranger RFking44 and is made up of the Training Unit, which has the task of training rangers, and the Reserves Unit, which is led by a Supervisory Ranger and is comprised of the volunteer Reserve Rangers. The Administrative Subdivision is led by District Ranger AceofSpadesblue and is made up of the Public Information Office and the Internal Affairs Unit.
